Question
My mom and dad had a trust made. I helped my mom put a stock into the trust. The stock lists the names ( I guess it is) as: Both of their names (keep the identity private), TR UA July 28 04, Their names again with Declaration of Trust. What does the TR UA mean here as this is not listed in the trust papers.
Both parents are now deceased, I (the trustee of their will), is named along with one of my sisters as co-trustees on the trust. I was told I have to transfer ownership to my sister and I before we can distribute the stock. In filling out the transfer of ownership papers I was told to fill out the "new registration" box with my name, co-trustee, my sisters name and co-trustee followed by the U/A/A.
I am trying to determine first what the TR UA means and second what the U/A/A means

TR UA "Trust under agreement dated July 28 2004". This indicates that it was a "living trust" (i.e. a trust created during your parents lifetime, as opposed to a trust under a will, which only comes into existence at the death of the person creating the will. You need to contact a local probate/trust attorney who can assist you in administering the stock and other assets in the trust.
